As a United States Department of State Passport Acceptance Facility, the City of Sacramento offers one stop services for your passport needs. Passport application processing hours are between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Office of the City Clerk located at Historic City Hall, 915 I Street, 1st floor. |
Appointments are recommended and can be made by calling (916) 808-7200. ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE PRESENT.
If you have never been issued a US passport, OR are not eligible to use Form DS-82
for renewals, you need to complete Form DS-11

Effective February 1, 2008 all minors under age 16 require both parents consent. When a 16-17 year old is applying without a parent, it is advisable that the parent write the check for payment of the fees.
If your passport has expired, you may renew it by mail using form DS-82

To be eligible, you must meet all of the following conditions:
Submit the DS-82 form with the required Department of State fee by mail as directed on the form. If you are not eligible to use the form DS-82, you may apply in person at the City of Sacramento City Clerk office using the DS-11

A passport issued to a person under 16 will be valid for 5 years. A passport issued to a person 16 and over will be valid for 10 years.
In order for a birth certificate to be acceptable proof of citizenship, it must be a certified copy and include all of the following:
