Neighborhood Code Compliance is charged with handling
community and neighborhood nuisances such as illegal dumping, abandoned
or inoperable vehicles, graffiti, and
zoning violations.
The Neighborhood Code Compliance division works to improve the quality of life in Sacramento's neighborhoods through awareness, education and enforcement. Removal of illegally dumped debris, or accumulated trash and junk from public and private property is a primary function. Code Enforcement Officers are responsible for abating zoning violations including unlawful use of land, illegal street vendors, continuous yard sales (only one per residence per year is allowed), large-scale recycling in residential areas, illegal fences and illegal camping in vehicles.
Use the online form to report illegal dumped debris, accumulated trash and junk, abandoned or inoperable vehicles on city streets and private property, or zoning violations or call 311 at any time 24/7 including holidays (call 916-264-5011 if outside the City limits).
