Sacramento Valley Station Historic Assessment Report

The City of Sacramento commissioned HMR Architects, Inc. to complete an architectural review of the Sacramento Valley Station to assess the current condition of the building, including all spaces within the building, the exterior façade and the roof. In addition, recommendations are made for upgrades and rehabilitation of the building, equipment and systems utilizing the California Historical Building Code and the Secretary of the Interior's Rehabilitation Standards to meet current code requirements. The report includes architectural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical sections defining the scope of recommended work for each discipline. A structural report was completed in 2002 that should be referenced regarding all structurally related issues and an update has not been included in the report. All information was obtained through our observations while on site and review of existing documents. Our observations took place from the exterior ground level, the roof and within each space of the building. The recommendations and findings included herein are solely based on our reasonable ability to observe existing conditions.
