Project Title: Track Relocation Project, 5th Street Bridge, Roadway, Retaining Walls & Viaduct, 6th Street Bridge and Railyards Blvd. (RFP) The project includes utilities and building foundations demolition, construction of two (2) mainline tracks, four (4) passenger tracks and one future mainline track 575 north of the existing tracks; construction of water and vapor proofed service and passenger tunnels under the tracks including pump stations; construction of passenger platforms and associated electrical and lighting systems; construction of the new 6th Street and 5th Street bridges over the tracks; construction of roadways and associated retaining walls; construction of water, drainage and sewer improvements, street lighting, traffic signals, landscaping, irrigation, and dry utilities. The Scope components are composed of two Projects: (1) Track Relocation and 6th Street bridges and roadways, under contract with the City of Sacramento; and (2) Fifth Street Bridge, Fifth Street Viaduct, Fifth Street roadways and retaining walls, and Railyards Blvd., under contract with S. Thomas Enterprises of Sacramento, LLC. (TE). TE contract forms may be obtained from TE upon request. The two project components are complementary, requiring a high degree of coordination between City of Sacramento and TE. ATTN: Jose R. Ledesma, Contract Services. A pre-proposal meeting will be held 9:00am, Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the following location: Valley Station, 5th and I Streets, Room 1, west of the depot entrance, Sacramento CA Attendance at this meeting is highly recommended, but is not mandatory. This project is fully or partially funded through a grant from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). As such, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) project participation requirements will apply. Successful bidders must either meet the required 17.2% Underutilized DBE (UDBE) project participation requirement or must demonstrate Good Faith Effort (GFE) in outreaching to certified UDBE firms to participate as subcontractors on this project. Failure to meet the UDBE project participation requirement or demonstrate GFE will result in the proposal being declared not responsive.
