The following are street and/or sidewalk closures for the time frame beginning Friday June 26, 2009. 

DOWNTOWN AREA

SHORT-TERM SIDWALK & STREET CLOSURES

  • 7th Street –btwn- Merchant Street and L Street (a traffic lane will be closed on 7th Street for various construction activities). 
  • Front Street –btwn- O Street and R Street (traffic lane closed to allow one way vehicle traffic and a pedestrian alternate route for the City of Sacramento’s Docks construction project).
  • Q Street –btwn- 6th street and 7th Street (periodic traffic lane closures for various construction activities).
  • P Street –btwn- 6th Street and 7th Street (periodic traffic lane closures for various construction activities).
  • 6th Street –btwn- P Street and Q Street (periodic street and sidewalk closure for building project)
  • Richards Blvd @ 7th Street (periodic traffic lane closures for various construction activities for the Continental Plaza construction project).

At the following locations you may experience periodic traffic delays due to the Sutter General joint utility project.

  • Capital Ave –btwn-27th Street and 29th Street
  • N Street –btwn- 27th Street and 29th Street
  • 27th Street –btwn- Capital Ave and N Street
  • 28th Street –btwn- Capital Ave and L Street

SPECIAL EVENTS: 

LONG TERM SIDEWALK & STREET CLOSURES

  • 29th Street –btwn- Capital Ave and L Street (traffic lane and sidewalk closed on the east side of the street for the Sutter General construction project).
  • Q Street –btwn- 6thth Street and 8th Street (Parking lane, traffic lane and sidewalk are closed, on the north side of the street, for various construction activities).
  • P Street –btwn- 6th Street and 7th Street (traffic lane and sidewalk closure on the south side of the street for building construction project).
  • Q Street -btwn- 6th and 7th Street (sidewalk is closed, on the north side, for building construction project).
  • 2nd Street –btwn- P Street and O Street (2nd street will be completely closed, to relocate the street, west of its’ present location to facilitate the expansion of the Crocker Art Museum).
  • 8TH Street –btwn- L Street and K Street Mall (Sidewalk closed on the eastside of the street for sidewalk
  • L Street –btwn- 27th Street and 30th Street (L Street is reduced to one traffic lane for construction of the
    Sutter General tunnel.
  • Capitol Mall –btwn- 5th Street and 6th Street (Covered walkway provided on the south side; please use caution when passing through).
  • N Street –btwn-5th Street and 6th Street (sidewalk and parking lane are closed.  A covered walk way has been provided; please use caution when passing through).
  • P Street -btwn- 6th and 7th Street (sidewalk and parking lane are closed, on the south side of the street, for various construction activities).
  • 6th Street -btwn- P Street and Q Street (sidewalk and parking lane closed, on the east side of the street, for various construction activities).
  • P street -btwn- 7th street and 8th street (The sidewalk and the parking lane, on the south side, are closed.  The number one traffic lane is closed).
  • 7th street – btwn- P street and Q street (The sidewalk and the parking lane, on the east side, are closed.  The number one traffic lane is closed).
  • J Street at 10th Street (the south side of J Street has a covered walkway with scaffolding, please use caution when passing area).
  • N street –btwn- 26th street through 27th street (sidewalks and Parking lanes are closed on the north side.  Periodic lane closures for utility work).

NORTH AREA

North of the River

SHORT-TERM SIDEWALK & STREET CLOSURES

  • Arden Way –btwn- Oxford and Evergreen (periodic traffic lane and sidewalk closures for a Regional Transit track relocation project)
  • Truxel @ Gateway Park Blvd (periodic traffic lane closures for PG& E project with some night and weekend work).

SPECIAL EVENTS:       

EAST AREA

East of 30th Street

SHORT-TERM SIDEWALK & STEET CLOSURES

  • Broadway @ Stockton Blvd (periodic traffic lane closures for City of Sacramento Street Overlay project)
  • T Street –btwn- 30th Street and 34th Street (periodic traffic lane closures for a City of Sacramento Street Overlay Project).
  • Arden Way –btwn- Del Paso Blvd and Ethan Way (periodic traffic lane closures to prep for City of Sacramento Overlay project).
  • H Street @ 39th street (periodic traffic lane closures for the Mercy Hospital expansion project). 
  • 39th Street –btwn- J Street and H Street (periodic traffic lane closures, with flaggers, for the Mercy Hospital expansion project).

SPECIAL EVENTS:  

SOUTH AREA

South of Broadway

SHORT-TERM SIDEWALK & STREET CLOSURES   

  • 14th Ave Between 44th Street and Stockton Blvd (14th Ave will be closed Sunday 28 July, 2009 to repair large water main in the street).  Please use alternate routes to avoid traffic delays between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
  • 47th Ave @ Hwy 99 (periodic traffic lane and off ramp closures for various construction activities). Off ramp will be closed between 26 July and 28 July 2009.
  • Broadway –btwn- 36th Street and Stockton Blvd (periodic traffic lane closures for City of Sacramento Landscape project).
  • La Mancha –btwn- Mack Road and Creek Centre Court (periodic traffic and sidewalk closures for utility project, night work).
  • Bruceville Road –btwn- Timberlane and Sheldon Road (periodic traffic lane closures for a large underground utility project).
  • Florin Road –btwn- 24th Street and Franklin (periodic traffic lane and sidewalk closures for Landscape, side walk and ADA curb ramp installation project).
  • Florin Road –btwn- 21st Street and Freeport Blvd (periodic traffic lane closures for landscape project in the median).
  • Meadowview Road –btwn- 24th Street and Tamoshantner (periodic traffic lane closures for a Utility project)
  • Hwy 99 @ Calvin/Sheldon (interchange large scale construction to upgrade the freeway ramps and overcrossing).  Night work with some detours.
